Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is increasingly entwined with global society, raising profound ethical and spiritual concerns. This interdisciplinary study examines how AI technologies are being leveraged by influential networks – including global institutions, media platforms, and ideologically driven groups – in ways that echo ancient biblical prophecies about end-time deception. We investigate how AI can simulate life and produce “false signs” through deepfakes and generative media, manipulate information via algorithms, erode biblical truth in public discourse, and marginalize Christian content under labels like “hate speech” and “misinformation.” Using a biblical-prophetic framework drawn from Revelation 13, 2 Thessalonians 2, Genesis 11 and other scriptures, alongside contemporary AI ethics literature and real-world case studies, we develop a conceptual model linking modern AI systems to patterns of global spiritual deception. This paper integrates current data, theological perspectives, and insights from thought leaders (e.g. Yuval Harari’s warnings about “AI religions” and Elon Musk’s AI critiques) to illustrate how digital ecosystems may be conditioning society – especially youth – toward a post-truth, godless worldview. Methodologically, the study combines critical theological inquiry with NVivo‑assisted thematic coding of policy and media documents. Findings reveal a convergence between prophecy and technology: AI’s capacity for pervasive surveillance, information control, and simulation of reality can fulfill key aspects of prophetic scenarios. We conclude with bold recommendations for theologians, educators, policymakers, and faith communities to respond proactively. Ensuring ethical AI development, protecting religious expression, educating for discernment, and spiritually preparing the Church are crucial to counteracting deception and upholding truth in the AI age.
